Paving the way for improved mental health facilities

Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust is improving patient environments at four of its mental health inpatient facilities across Hull and the East Riding.

New Bridges in east Hull, Mill View in Cottingham and Miranda House and Westlands in west Hull, will be refurbished in a £2 million project as part of the Trust’s Capital Programme.

Citycare has been appointed to design and project manage the project, which will include replacing floors, redecoration, garden improvements, new LED lighting, improved clinical rooms and staff areas, with work expected to be complete by March 2022.

Working with the estate’s team, Citycare is engaging with the trust and service leads during the early design stages before the Trust puts the scheme to the market to procure a contractor to complete the work via competitive tender.

Jonathan Ramsey, Development Manager at Citycare, said: “We’ve worked with the Trust on different projects over a number of years and we’re delighted to be working with them again, this time to upgrade a number of their key sites further improving the patient environment and experience.”
